Community guidelines

Our community is a private, warm place for parents of children with SEND to share what helps and feel less alone. These simple guidelines keep it kind and safe for everyone. By taking part, you agree to follow them.

Be kind, always

Everyone here is doing their best for their child, often on a hard day. Speak to others the way you would want to be spoken to: with patience and warmth. Disagree gently if you need to, and assume good intentions. There is no place here for insults, blame or judging another family's choices.

Protect privacy, including children's data

What is shared in the community stays in the community. Do not screenshot or repost what others write, and do not share another person's name, photo or details without their clear agreement. Take special care with anything about a child, including names, schools or health information. Share only what you are comfortable being read by other members.

Share experience, not medical or legal facts

Your story and what worked for your family are golden, so please share them. But please do not present medical or legal opinions as fact. Say what happened for you, not what others must do. For decisions about a child, always point people towards their doctor, school or council's SEND team.

Keep it a safe space

No selling, spam, or links to products you profit from. No hate speech, harassment or content that targets a person or group. This is a space for support between families, not advertising or arguments. If you are unsure whether something fits, it is fine to ask a moderator first.

How to report something

If a post or comment worries you or breaks these guidelines, use the report button next to it, or contact us directly. Reports are private. Our moderators review them quickly and will remove anything that does not belong, and step in if someone needs gentle support rather than a warning.

What happens if guidelines are broken

Most issues are small and end with a friendly word. For anything serious or repeated, we may edit or remove a post, give a warning, or in rare cases pause an account. We always aim to be fair and to keep the community feeling safe for every parent who comes here.
